Happy birthday to IHI - a word from our director
This week we are celebrating our birthday, 30 November marks three years since the start of IHI. We are celebrating by launching a set of new projects focused on synthetic data and theranostics, areas which are both full of potential – you can read about SYNTHIA, Thera4CARE and SEARCH below.
Theranostics is an emerging and fascinating field where treatments and diagnostics are combined to better tailor treatments to each individual's response – for instance in ILLUMINATE the project will use advanced metabolic imaging to follow the response of cancer patients to targeted radiotherapy and so avoid unnecessary exposure for non-responders. Importantly, the three projects are not only developing novel solutions, they are also addressing critical issues in the supply of medicines to the patients.
We also caught up with one of our past projects, PharmaLedger, which is now running as a non-profit association, to see how they have been getting on. PharmaLedger is developing blockchain solutions for healthcare, to ascertain correctness of digital product information leaflets as well as digitally detecting problems in the supply chain.
Looking towards the future, I’m delighted to announce that registration for our IHI Call Days on calls 9 and 10 is now open. Register now to join our online info sessions. These sessions are designed to help you to prepare all aspects of a high-quality and competitive proposal – not to be missed!
