IHI call 13 open for proposals

Summer reflections on transforming health – a word from our director

IHI kicked off July with our thirteenth call –on tackling immune diseases in the elderly, building a network for health innovators and reducing animal testing. All materials from our call days are now online to help you build strong proposals. The deadline is 8 October.

The key to a strong proposal and a successful IHI project is to bring in all the stakeholders needed to transform innovation into long-lasting impact. The newly-published IHI In Focus – with highlights from 2025 - provides many examples and a deep-dive into our cancer projects.

Catching up with alumni of IMI projects, we spoke to Aurora Signorazzi, now a regulator at the Dutch medicines agency. She developed alternatives to animal testing for her PhD as part of the VAC-2-VAC project, and describes how the public-private partnership shaped her career by exposing her to regulatory affairs.

IHI strives for deep patient engagement. This often means training people living with disease to understand and participate in research. Our project GREG, with EUPATI, is now flipping the script: training researchers how to effectively involve patients in data-driven research - doing research differently and shaping questions to do different research.

IHI’s legacy will be such bold, collaborative partnerships that drive long-lasting, transformative impact. This is the theme of the IHI Forum, taking place in October. Join us for our flagship event on public-private partnerships that are revolutionising health – registration is now open!
